GOD’S LOVING DEEDS(PSALM 107:1-11, 41-43)
(시 107:1) 여호와께 감사하라 그는 선하시며 그 인자하심이 영원함이로다//O give thanks unto the Lord, for {he is} good: for his mercy {endureth} for ever.
(시 107:2) 여호와의 속량을 받은 자들은 이같이 말할지어다 여호와께서 대적의 손에서 그들을 속량하사//Let the redeemed of the Lord say {so}, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
(시 107:3) 동서 남북 각 지방에서부터 모으셨도다//And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
(시 107:4) 그들이 광야 사막 길에서 방황하며 거주할 성읍을 찾지 못하고//They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
(시 107:5) 주리고 목이 말라 그들의 영혼이 그들 안에서 피곤하였도다//Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
(시 107:6) 이에 그들이 근심 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그들의 고통에서 건지시고//Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, {and} he delivered them out of their distresses.
(시 107:7) 또 바른 길로 인도하사 거주할 성읍에 이르게 하셨도다//And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
(시 107:8) 여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기적으로 말미암아 그를 찬송할지로다//Oh that {men} would praise the {Lord} for his goodness, and {for} his wonderful works to the children of men!
(시 107:9) 그가 사모하는 영혼에게 만족을 주시며 주린 영혼에게 좋은 것으로 채워주심이로다//For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
(시 107:10) 사람이 흑암과 사망의 그늘에 앉으며 곤고와 쇠사슬에 매임은//Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, {being} bound in affliction and iron;
(시 107:11) 하나님의 말씀을 거역하며 지존자의 뜻을 멸시함이라//Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
(시 107:41) 궁핍한 자는 그의 고통으로부터 건져 주시고 그의 가족을 양 떼 같이 지켜 주시나니//Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh {him} families like a flock.
(시 107:42) 정직한 자는 보고 기뻐하며 모든 사악한 자는 자기 입을 봉하리로다//The righteous shall see {it}, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
(시 107:43) 지혜 있는 자들은 이러한 일들을 지켜 보고 여호와의 인자하심을 깨달으리로다//Whoso {is} wise, and will observe these {things}, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

They sit side by side on Ball Street in my city - the Grand Ideas Garden and the county jail. My friend Joann loved both places. She loved to sit in the garden, thinking about the goodness of God and her love for Him because of what He’d done in her life. She also loved to share with the women in the jail and tell her story of God redeeming her life after many bad choices and wandering far from Him. Often, she would tell me of her passion: her dream that all the women there would someday understand and experience the love of God for them personally.
내가 사는 도시에 있는 볼가(Ball St.)에는 ‘그랜드 아이디어스 정원’ 과 카운티 교도소가 나란히 있다. 내 친구 조앤은 두 곳을 모두 사랑했다. 정원에 앉아 하나님의 선하심과 하나님께서 자기 삶에 행하신 일들로 갖게 된, 하나님을 향한 자신의 사랑을 묵상하곤 했다. 또 교도소에 있는 여성들에게 자신의 삶의 이야기를 나누며, 많은 잘못된 선택과 방황 끝에 하나님께서 자신을 어떻게 구속하셨는지 간증했다. 조앤은 종종 내게 말하곤 했다. 그곳의 모든 여성들이 하나님의 사랑을 깨닫고, 자신을 위한 하나님의 사랑을 경험하기를 꿈꾼다고 말이다.
The psalmist told his fellow Israelites to “tell their story” of how God redeemed them from their enemies (PSALM 107:2). They had “wandered in desert wastelands,” “they were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away” (VV. 4-5). At times they rebelled against God, and He disciplined them (VV. 10-12). Yet every time “they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, … he delivered them from their distress” (V. 6). They had much to give God thanks for and to talk about with others. As the Israelites learned, and we can learn also, He has a love that will never let us go.
시편 기자는 이스라엘 백성들에게 하나님께서 그들을 원수로부터 어떻게 속량하셨는지 “자신들의 이야기를 말하라”고 권했다(시편 107:2). 그들은 “광야 사막 길에서 방황하며”, “주리고 목이 말라 그들의 영혼이 그들 안에서 피곤”했다(4-5절). 때로는 하나님께 반역하여 징계를 받기도 했다(10- 12절). 그러나 매번 “그들이 근심 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그들의 고통에서 건지셨다”(6절)고 노래한다. 그들은 하나님께 감사할 많은 이유가 있었고, 다른 이들에게 말할 이야기도 있었다. 이스라엘 백성들처럼 우리도 배울 수 있다. 하나님의 사랑은 결코 우리를 놓지 않는다.
We too can take opportunities to “ponder the loving deeds of the Lord” toward us (V. 43), give thanks to Him, and tell our own story of His rescue. ANNE CETAS
우리 역시 “여호와의 인자하신 행하심”(43절)을 깊이 묵상하고, 하나님께 감사하며, 하나님께서 우리를 어떻게 건지셨는지 각자의 이야기를 전할 수 있다.

Please give me the words and open my mouth to speak about You.//사랑하는 하나님, 주님은 참으로 선하시며, 제게 행하신 일들을 다른 이들과 나눌 가치가 있습니다. 제 입을 열어 주셔서 담대히 주님을 말하게 하소서. 주님이 내게 베풀어주신 은혜를 마음에만 담고 있지 말고 입으로 전하게 하소서. 때를 얻든지 얻지 못하든지 항상 내 입술이 주님을 전하고 찬양의 말이 입술을 떠나지 않게 하소서.
