ONE IN CHRIST(EPHESIANS 4:1-7)
(엡 4:1) 그러므로 주 안에서 갇힌 내가 너희를 권하노니 너희가 부르심을 받은 일에 합당하게 행하여//I Therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
(엡 4:2) 모든 겸손과 온유로 하고 오래 참음으로 사랑 가운데서 서로 용납하고//With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
(엡 4:3) 평안의 매는 줄로 성령이 하나 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라//Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(엡 4:4) 몸이 하나요 성령도 한 분이시니 이와 같이 너희가 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 부르심을 받았느니라//{There is} one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
(엡 4:5) 주도 한 분이시요 믿음도 하나요 세례도 하나요//One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
(엡 4:6) 하나님도 한 분이시니 곧 만유의 아버지시라 만유 위에 계시고 만유를 통일하시고 만유 가운데 계시도다//One God and Father of all, who {is} above all, and through all, and in you all.
(엡 4:7) 우리 각 사람에게 그리스도의 선물의 분량대로 은혜를 주셨나니//But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

In January 1967, the town of Winneconne discovered it had been mistakenly omitted from the official Wisconsin state road map, costing the town vital tourist revenue. So the town decided to secede from Wisconsin and become its own sovereign state on July 21 of that year. Some say the secession was a move to embarrass the state government, while others claim it was a tongue-in-cheek act of humor. In any case, months of negotiations resulted in state and town coming together again on July 22, 1967.

Most division isn’t as good-natured or as easily resolved. Division is such a threat that the book of Proverbs lists the “the person who stirs up conflict” (6:19) as one of seven things “that are detestable to (God)” (V. 16).
대부분의 분열은 이처럼 유쾌하거나 쉽게 해결되지 않는다. 분열은 너무나 큰 위협이어서 잠언서는 “이간하는 자”(6:19)를 “여호와께서 미워하시는 것 곧 그의 마음에 싫어하시는 것 예닐곱 가지”(16절) 중 하나로 꼽는다.
Division may not only cause problems but misrepresents Jesus and His Father. The night before the cross, Christ prayed that His followers would be one in Him, “that the world may believe that you have sent me” (JOHN 17:21).
분열은 여러가지 문제를 일으킬 뿐만 아니라 예수님과 아버지 하나님을 세상에 올바로 나타내지 못하게 한다. 십자가에 달리시기 전날 밤, 그리스도께서는 제자들이 예수님 안에서 하나 되기를 기도한다. “세상으로 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 믿게 하옵소서”(요한복음 17:21).
Jesus made it clear that our unity as brothers and sisters in Christ (or lack of it) impacts the world’s belief in Him! Perhaps that’s why Paul told the Ephesians, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (EPHESIANS 4:3). May we allow the Spirit of Christ to make us one - that the world may be drawn to Him. BILL CROWDER
예수님은 그리스도 안에서 형제자매된 우리의 연합(또는 분열)이 세상의 하나님 아버지에 대한 믿음에 영향을 미친다는 사실을 분명히 말씀하셨다! 아마도 이것이 바울이 에베소 사람들에게 “평안의 매는 줄로 성령이 하나 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라”(에베소서 4:3)고 말한 이유일 것이다. 성령께서 우리를 하나 되게 하시어 세상이 하나님께 이끌리게 되기를 소망한다.

Dear Father, please give me a heart for my brothers and sisters in Christ.//사랑하는 하나님 아버지, 그리스도 안에서 형제자매들을 사랑하는 마음을 제게 주옵소서. 항상 나보다 남을 낫게 여기며 항상 겸손하여 주변 사람들을 섬기려는 마음을 허락하소서.
