(시 98:1) 새 노래로 여호와께 찬송하라 대저 기이한 일을 행하사 그 오른손과 거룩한 팔로 자기를 위하여 구원을 베푸셨도다//O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
(시 98:2) 여호와께서 그 구원을 알게 하시며 그 의를 열방의 목전에 명백히 나타내셨도다//The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
(시 98:3) 저가 이스라엘 집에 향하신 인자와 성실을 기억하셨으므로 땅의 모든 끝이 우리 하나님의 구원을 보았도다//He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
(시 98:4) 온 땅이여 여호와께 즐거이 소리할지어다 소리를 발하여 즐거이 노래하며 찬송할지어다//Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
(시 98:5) 수금으로 여호와를 찬양하라 수금과 음성으로 찬양할지어다//Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
(시 98:6) 나팔과 호각으로 왕 여호와 앞에 즐거이 소리할지어다//With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.
(시 98:7) 바다와 거기 충만한 것과 그 중에 거하는 자는 다 외칠지어다//Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
(시 98:8) 여호와 앞에서 큰 물이 박수하며 산악이 함께 즐거이 노래할지어다//Let the floods clap {their} hands: let the hills be joyful together
(시 98:9) 저가 땅을 판단하려 임하실 것임이로다 저가 의로 세계를 판단하시며 공평으로 그 백성을 판단하시리로다//Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

For 30 straight Christmas seasons at the Omaha Community Playhouse, Dick Boyd never missed a performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol. When he retired at the age of 83, Boyd no longer needed makeup to play the cynical, miserly old man who is transformed at Christmas. During the play, the dramatic change in Scrooge is seen in his face, in his voice, and in his generosity. The director who selected Boyd for the role in 1976 said, "Dick was the one who best captured the joy of redemption."

Each Christmas reminds us of God's grace shown to us in the gift of Jesus Christ, His Son. The carols of the season reflect the psalmist's words: "Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. The LORD has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations"(Ps. 98:1-2). Isaac Watts poetically expressed Psalm 98 in these enduring words:
