본문 : 창세기 1:1-13(Genesis 1:1-13)
(창 1:1) 태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하시니라//In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(창 1:2) 땅이 혼돈하고 공허하며 흑암이 깊음 위에 있고 하나님의 영은 수면 위에 운행하시니라//And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness {was} upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(창 1:3) 하나님이 이르시되 빛이 있으라 하시니 빛이 있었고//And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
(창 1:4) 빛이 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라 하나님이 빛과 어둠을 나누사//And God saw the light, that {it was} good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
(창 1:5) 하나님이 빛을 낮이라 부르시고 어둠을 밤이라 부르시니라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 첫째 날이니라//And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
(창 1:6) 하나님이 이르시되 물 가운데에 궁창이 있어 물과 물로 나뉘라 하시고//And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
(창 1:7) 하나님이 궁창을 만드사 궁창 아래의 물과 궁창 위의 물로 나뉘게 하시니 그대로 되니라//And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which {were} under the firmament from the waters which {were} above the firmament: and it was so.
(창 1:8) 하나님이 궁창을 하늘이라 부르시니라 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 둘째 날이니라//And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
(창 1:9) 하나님이 이르시되 천하의 물이 한 곳으로 모이고 뭍이 드러나라 하시니 그대로 되니라//And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry {land} appear: and it was so.
(창 1:10) 하나님이 뭍을 땅이라 부르시고 모인 물을 바다라 부르시니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라//And God called the dry {land} Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that {it was} good.
(창 1:11) 하나님이 이르시되 땅은 풀과 씨 맺는 채소와 각기 종류대로 씨 가진 열매 맺는 나무를 내라 하시니 그대로 되어//And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, {and} the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed {is} in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
(창 1:12) 땅이 풀과 각기 종류대로 씨 맺는 채소와 각기 종류대로 씨 가진 열매 맺는 나무를 내니 하나님이 보시기에 좋았더라//And the earth brought forth grass, {and} herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed {was} in itself, after his kind: and God saw that {it was} good.
(창 1:13) 저녁이 되고 아침이 되니 이는 셋째 날이니라//And the evening and the morning were the third day.
(요절 : 창세기 1:1) 태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하시니라//In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No light. No sky. No land. It’s incomprehensible to our finite thinking - the barren nothingness that existed before Genesis 1:1.
아무것도 없었다. 전혀 아무것도 없었다. 빛도 없었고, 땅도 없었다. 우리의 유한한 생각으로는 이해할 수 없다 - 창세기 1장 1절 이전에 존재하던 것은 그야말로 아무것도 없었다.
Then suddenly, through the work of the Almighty, God supplanted nothingness with “the heavens and the earth.” The divine hand reached through the void and produced a place, a world, a universe. Through the magnificent convergence of the workings of the Godhead - with the Son enacting the will of the Father as the Agent of creation, and the Holy Spirit as the hovering Presence - nothing became something. History began its long march toward today.
그런데 갑자기, 전지전능하신 하나님이 일하심으로 아무것도 없는 것을 "하늘과 땅"으로 대체하셨다. 하나님의 손이 비어있는 곳에 임하셔서 공간과 세상과 우주를 만드셨다. 신격의 일하심이 웅장하게 모여서 - 아들 하나님은 창조의 행위자로서 아버지의 뜻을 실현함으로, 성령 하나님은 운행하시는 존재로서 - 아무것도 아닌 것(nothing)이 무언가(something)가 되었다. 역사는 오늘을 향해 긴 여정을 시작하였다.
The first verse of Genesis provides us with sufficient concepts to contemplate for a lifetime. That introductory statement speaks of enough glory, enough majesty, enough awe to leave us speechless before God. Just as today we would have no life, no breath, no existence without His sustaining action, neither would we have the cosmos without His mighty act at the moment of creation.
창세기의 첫 절은 우리 일생 동안 묵상할만한 충분한 개념을 제공한다. 그 서두의 진술이 충분한 영광과, 충분한 위엄과, 충분한 경외심을 말하므로 우리는 하나님 앞에서 할 말을 잊을 수밖에 없다. 창조의 순간에 그분의 능하신 활동이 없었다면 우리는 우주를 가질 수 없었고, 그분의 유지하시는 활동이 없었다면 오늘과 같은 생명과 호흡과 존재를 가질 수 없었다.
In awe we wonder what went on before “the beginning.” With breathless praise we marvel at the words “God created the heavens and the earth.” We read - and we stand in adoration. “Nothing” has never been so fascinating! - Dave Branon

Nature is but a name for an effect whose cause is God.//자연이란 그 원인이 하나님이신 결과에 대한 이름일 뿐입니다. 자연은 저절로 만들어진 것이 아니라, 삼위의 하나님이 심사숙고하여 만드신 것입니다. 그 가운데 하나님의 가장 큰 관심은 바로 나에게 있었습니다. 이것은 이기주의가 아니라 하나님과 나와의 관계의 문제입니다. 하나님이 가장 사랑하시는 사람은 바로 나입니다. (나만이 아니라 우리 모두에게 적용되는 말입니다.) 하나님이 성경의 맨 첫 부분에 기록하게 하신 그 문장, "태초에 하나님이 하늘들과 땅을 창조하시니라"는 말씀은 너무나 많은 것을 함축합니다. 한번쯤 시간을 내어 "창조"를 묵상할 기회를 가졌으면 합니다.
아무것도 없는 상태에서 오직 하나님만 계실 때 그분이 계획하셨습니다. '우주를 어떻게 만들까?' '내 형상을 닮은 사람을 두어 살게 할 지구를 어디에 어떻게 만들까?' '사람을 어떤 모습이 되게 할까?'
우주를 만드실 때는 모든 정보를 담은 어떤 것을 펼치셔서 지금의 우주가 되게 하셨습니다. 그 어떤 것에는 하나님의 무한한 지혜가 적용되어 있습니다. 그 우주 공간에 딱 사람이 살 수 있는 유일한 위치에 지구를 두셨습니다. 그리고 나중에 인간이 죄를 지으면 그 죄 값을 대신하러 하나님이 친히 육신을 입으실 텐데, 그때 하나님이 취하실 인간의 모습대로 우리 인간을 만드셨습니다. 하나님의 형상이 물질적으로 드러난 모습이 우리의 모습입니다.
모든 사람은 굳이 성형을 할 필요가 없는 모습으로 완벽하게 태어났습니다. 우리에게는 정신적으로 약간 모자란 듯이 보여지는 사람도 하나님이 보시기에는 완벽합니다. 하나님은 어떤 모습이든 어떤 상태이든, 모든 사람으로부터 영광을 받으시기에 합당하시며, 또 우리에게 예배 받기를 기대하십니다. 우리의 몸은 하나님께 영광 돌려 드리기에 전혀 부족하지 않은 완전한 모습입니다.
그러기에, 아침에 잠에서 깨어나면, 오늘도 부활을 경험하게 하신 하나님께 감사하며 내 몸을 드리기 원합니다.
