본문 : 야고보서 1:13-21(James 1:13-21)
(약 1:13) 사람이 시험을 받을 때에 내가 하나님께 시험을 받는다 하지 말찌니 하나님은 악에게 시험을 받지도 아니하시고 친히 아무도 시험하지 아니하시느니라//Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
(약 1:14) 오직 각 사람이 시험을 받는 것은 자기 욕심에 끌려 미혹됨이니//But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
(약 1:15) 욕심이 잉태한즉 죄를 낳고 죄가 장성한즉 사망을 낳느니라//Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
(약 1:16) 내 사랑하는 형제들아 속지 말라//Do not err, my beloved brethren.
(약 1:17) 각양 좋은 은사와 온전한 선물이 다 위로부터 빛들의 아버지께로서 내려오나니 그는 변함도 없으시고 회전하는 그림자도 없으시니라//Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
(약 1:18) 그가 그 조물 중에 우리로 한 첫 열매가 되게 하시려고 자기의 뜻을 좇아 진리의 말씀으로 우리를 낳으셨느니라//Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
(약 1:19) 내 사랑하는 형제들아 너희가 알거니와 사람마다 듣기는 속히하고 말하기는 더디하며 성내기도 더디하라//Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
(약 1:20) 사람의 성내는 것이 하나님의 의를 이루지 못함이니라//For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
(약 1:21) 그러므로 모든 더러운 것과 넘치는 악을 내어버리고 능히 너희 영혼을 구원할 바 마음에 심긴 도를 온유함으로 받으라//Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Kara and April left central Russia and traveled across six time zones to attend a retreat in Tallinn, Estonia, for women serving the Lord in Eastern Europe. Because of fogged-in airports and diverted flights, they had to spend an extra $600 on air expenses. Kara felt guilty about leaving her husband to care for their two young children and to run the ministry. The unplanned financial burden added to her guilt, and she e-mailed her husband that she was having difficulty enjoying the retreat.
Kara와 April은 동유럽에서 주님을 섬기는 여성들을 위해 Estonia의 Tallinn에서 열리는 수련회에 참석하기 위해 중앙 러시아를 떠나서 여섯 개의 시간대를 지나는 여행을 했다. 공항에 안개가 많아 비행편이 우회를 하는 바람에, 그들은 항공 요금으로 $600의 추가 요금을 사용해야 했다. Kara는 그녀의 남편에게 어린 두 아이들을 돌보게 하고 떠나와서 사역을 하는 것에 대해 죄책감을 느꼈다. 계획에 없던 재정적 부담이 그녀의 죄책감을 더해서 수련회를 즐기는 데 어려움을 느끼고 있다고 자기 남편에게 이메일을 보냈다.
He told her not to worry about the extravagance and said, "God is, after all, the God who made us heirs with Him and co-heirs with Christ. The God who gave Eve to Adam. The Father who loves to give good gifts to His children. Heaven is the ultimate of this … but I also think that He has given us gifts to be enjoyed - and a time to enjoy them. And this time, for you, is now. Don't worry - sacrifice is waiting for you aplenty when you get home." We can benefit from his response.
그는 그녀에게 낭비에 대해 걱정하지 말라하며 이렇게 말했다. "하나님은 결국 우리를 그분과 함께 하는 상속자와 그리스도와 함께 하는 공동상속자로 삼으신 하나님이야. 하나님은 하와에게 아담을 주신 분이다. 그분의 자녀들에게 좋은 선물을 주시기 원하시는 아버지. 이에 대한 궁극적인 결말은 천국이다. … 그러나 나는 또한 그분이 우리에게 즐길 수 있는 선물과 그것들을 즐길 수 있는 시간을 주셨다고 생각해. 그리고 당신에게는 지금이 그 때야. 걱정하지 마 - 당신이 희생할 시간은 집에 돌아오고 난 이후에도 많아." 그의 반응으로부터 유익을 취할 수 있다.
As Kara was able then to enjoy the retreat, we too, as God's children, can let ourselves enjoy without guilt the good things He sends our way(1 Tim. 6:17). We, in turn, can use those good gifts to bless others. - Dave Egner -

Come to us by grace - and they're unmatched!//은혜로 주어지며, 그것들은 비길 것이 없다.
