본문 : 빌립보서 3:13-21(Philippians 3:13-21)
(빌 3:13) 형제들아 나는 아직 내가 잡은 줄로 여기지 아니하고 오직 한 일 즉 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 앞에 있는 것을 잡으려고//Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but {this} one thing {I do}, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
(빌 3:14) 푯대를 향하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상을 위하여 좇아가노라//I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
(빌 3:15) 그러므로 누구든지 우리 온전히 이룬 자들은 이렇게 생각할지니 만일 무슨 일에 너희가 달리 생각하면 하나님이 이것도 너희에게 나타내시리라//Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
(빌 3:16) 오직 우리가 어디까지 이르렀든지 그대로 행할 것이라//Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
(빌 3:17) 형제들아 너희는 함께 나를 본받으라 또 우리로 본을 삼은 것 같이 그대로 행하는 자들을 보이라//Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(빌 3:18) 내가 여러번 너희에게 말하였거니와 이제도 눈물을 흘리며 말하노니 여러 사람들이 그리스도 십자가의 원수로 행하느니라//(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, {that they are} the enemies of the cross of Christ:
(빌 3:19) 저희의 마침은 멸망이요 저희의 신은 배요 그 영광은 저희의 부끄러움에 있고 땅의 일을 생각하는 자라//Whose end {is} destruction, whose God {is their} belly, and {whose} glory {is} in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
(빌 3:20) 오직 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있는지라 거기로서 구원하는 자 곧 주 예수 그리스도를 기다리노니//For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
(빌 3:21) 그가 만물을 자기에게 복종케 하실 수 있는 자의 역사로 우리의 낮은 몸을 자기 영광의 몸의 형체와 같이 변케 하시리라//Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

A certain businessman was notorious for saving almost everything that came across his desk - especially correspondence. Consequently, the files in his office were bulging. One day his secretary asked if she might dispose of all the old, useless material. The man was reluctant, but finally said, "Well, all right, but be sure you make a copy of everything before you throw it away."
자기 책상 위에 올라오는 거의 모든 것을 모으는 것으로 유명한 어떤 사업가가 있는데 특히 자기에게 온 편지를 모두 모은다. 따라서 그의 사무실의 파일들이 불룩했다. 어느 날, 그의 비서가 오래되고 쓸모 없는 것들을 처분해도 되는지 물었다. 그 남자는 내키지 않았지만, 마침내 말했다. "어, 좋아. 그런데 버리기 전에 모든 것의 복사본을 만들어 놓아야돼."
That's the way some Christians handle their sins. They know that Jesus paid the penalty, but somehow they can't let go of the guilt. It's as if Christ's suffering were not enough, and they must contribute some of their own anguish by continually lamenting their failure. They want to keep copies of everything they've done. How foolish!
그것이 일부 기독교인들이 자기들의 죄를 처리하는 방식이다. 그들은 예수님이 죄값을 다 지불했다는 것을 알지만, 어쩐지 그 죄를 떨쳐버릴 수 없다. 그것은 마치 예수님의 수난이 충분치 못해서, 자기들의 실패를 지속적으로 슬퍼함으로 자기들 자신의 고뇌에 일부 기여를 해야만 하는 것과 같다. 그들은 자기들이 행한 모든 일의 복사본을 지니기 원한다. 얼마나 바보같은가!
The apostle Paul wanted nothing of this. He accepted as an accomplished fact the removal of all his guilt before God because Christ's death had marked PAID IN FULL over his account. The memory of earlier days remained vivid, but it didn't weigh him down.
사도 바울은 이것들의 아무 것도 원하지 않았다. 그의 계산으로는 그리스도의 죽음이 "모두 지불했음"을 의미하므로 하나님 앞에 자기의 모든 죄가 제거되었다는 것을 이미 완성된 사실로 받아들였다. 지난날의 기억이 생생하게 남아있지만, 그를 짓누르지는 않았다.
Everything that happens to us is retained in that remarkable filing system called "memory." A wise forgetfulness based on Christ's atoning sacrifice can keep all guilt feelings from cluttering up our life. - Dennis De Haan -

The Lord forgives our sins because of Calvary,//주님은 갈보리 때문에 우리 죄들을 용서하신다.
And He Himself remembers them no more;//그리고 그분 자신은 그것들을 더 이상 기억하지 않으신다.
So let us not be burdened with their memory,//그러므로 죄에 대한 기억 때문에 부담을 갖지 말자.
But look ahead to all He has in store.//그러나 그분이 비축해 놓은 모든 것을 바라보자.

Guilt is a burden God never intended His children to bear.//죄는 하나님이 자기 자녀들이 지니고 있기를 전혀 원하지 않는 부담입니다. 죄책감으로부터 자유함을 얻고, 소극적인 의미로 죄책감에 머물러 있지 말고, 적극적인 의미로 선한 일에 힘쓰는 사람이 되기 바랍니다.
