본문 : 누가복음 10:30-37(Luke 10:30-37)
(눅 10:30) 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 어떤 사람이 예루살렘에서 여리고로 내려가다가 강도를 만나매 강도들이 그 옷을 벗기고 때려 거반 죽은 것을 버리고 갔더라//And Jesus answering said, A certain {man} went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded {him}, and departed, leaving {him} half dead.
(눅 10:31) 마침 한 제사장이 그 길로 내려가다가 그를 보고 피하여 지나가고//And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
(눅 10:32) 또 이와 같이 한 레위인도 그곳에 이르러 그를 보고 피하여 지나가되//And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked {on him}, and passed by on the other side.
(눅 10:33) 어떤 사마리아인은 여행하는 중 거기 이르러 그를 보고 불쌍히 여겨//But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion {on him},
(눅 10:34) 가까이 가서 기름과 포도주를 그 상처에 붓고 싸매고 자기 짐승에 태워 주막으로 데리고 가서 돌보아 주고//And went to {him}, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
(눅 10:35) 이튿날에 데나리온 둘을 내어 주막 주인에게 주며 가로되 이 사람을 돌보아 주라 부비가 더 들면 내가 돌아 올 때에 갚으리라 하였으니//And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave {them} to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
(눅 10:36) 네 의견에는 이 세 사람 중에 누가 강도 만난 자의 이웃이 되겠느냐//Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
(눅 10:37) 가로되 자비를 베푼 자니이다 예수께서 이르시되 가서 너도 이와 같이 하라 하시니라//And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
(요절 : 누가복음 10:29) 이 사람이 자기를 옳게 보이려고 예수께 여짜오되 그러면 내 이웃이 누구오니이까//But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
In the movie The Four Feathers, Harry Faversham left England in the 1880s to search for his friends in the King's army in the Sudan. In his quest, Harry got lost and was near death in the vast deserts of Africa. Then, as his life was ebbing away, he was rescued by an African, Abou Fatma, who cared for him.
The Four Feathers라는 영화에서 Harry Faversham은 수단의 왕의 군대에 있는 자기 친구를 찾으러 1880년대에 영국을 떠났다. 친구를 찾다가 Harry는 광대한 아프리카의 사막에서 길을 잃었고 거의 죽을 뻔했다. 그런데 그의 생명이 서서히 소진해 가고 있을 때, Abou Fatma라는 아프리카 사람이 그를 구해서 돌봐주었다.
Stun ned by the man's kindness to a stranger, Harry asked why his new friend had done so much for him. Fatma's response was directed: "God put you in my way!"
그 사람이 나그네에 대해 친절했던 것에 놀라서, Harry는 그의 새로운 친구에게 왜 그렇게 잘 해 주었냐고 물었다. Fatma는 즉각적으로 대답했다. "하나님이 당신을 나의 길에 두셨어요!"
In the parable of the Good Samaritan, a priest and a religious scholar, whose calling was to help the downtrodden, ignored the need of a fallen traveler who had been left to die on the Jericho Road. A hated Samaritan, however, gave his time and resources to help the hurting man, displaying Christ's compassion. He bandaged his wounds, brought him to an inn, "and took care of him"(Luke 10:34). The ravaged man had been put in the way of all three travelers, but only the Samaritan responded.
선한 사마리아인의 비유에서, 제사장과 종교학자는 학대받는 사람들을 돕는 것이 자기들의 소명임에도, 여리고 길에서 쓰러져 죽게 되어버린 여행자의 필요를 무시했다. 그러나 증오 받는 사마리아인은 그의 시간과 물질을 들여서 상처받은 사람을 도움으로써 그리스도의 연민을 보여주었다. 그의 상처를 싸매어 주고, 여관에 데리고 가서 "그를 돌봐주었다"(누가복음 10:34). 강도 만난 사람은 세 여행자 모두의 길에 놓여 있었지만, 사마리아인만이 반응을 했다.
