본문 : 사도행전 4:13-31(Acts 4:13-31)
(행 4:13) 저희가 베드로와 요한이 기탄없이 말함을 보고 그 본래 학문 없는 범인으로 알았다가 이상히 여기며 또 그 전에 예수와 함께 있던 줄도 알고//Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
(행 4:14) 또 병 나은 사람이 그들과 함께 섰는 것을 보고 힐난할 말이 없는지라//And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
(행 4:15) 명하여 공회에서 나가라 하고 서로 의논하여 가로되//But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
(행 4:16) 이 사람들을 어떻게 할꼬 저희로 인하여 유명한 표적 나타난 것이 예루살렘에 사는 모든 사람에게 알려졌으니 우리도 부인할 수 없는지라//Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them {is} manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny {it}.
(행 4:17) 이것이 민간에 더 퍼지지 못하게 저희를 위협하여 이 후에는 이 이름으로 아무 사람에게도 말하지 말게 하자 하고//But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
(행 4:18) 그들을 불러 경계하여 도무지 예수의 이름으로 말하지도 말고 가르치지도 말라 하니//And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
(행 4:19) 베드로와 요한이 대답하여 가로되 하나님 앞에서 너희 말 듣는 것이 하나님 말씀 듣는 것보다 옳은가 판단하라//But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
(행 4:20) 우리는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 아니할 수 없다 하니//For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
(행 4:21) 관원들이 백성을 인하여 저희를 어떻게 벌할 도리를 찾지 못하고 다시 위협하여 놓아주었으니 이는 모든 사람이 그 된 일을 보고 하나님께 영광을 돌림이러라//So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all {men} glorified God for that which was done.
(행 4:22) 이 표적으로 병 나은 사람은 사십 여 세나 되었더라//For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
(행 4:23) 사도들이 놓이매 그 동류에게 가서 제사장들과 장로들의 말을 다 고하니//And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
(행 4:24) 저희가 듣고 일심으로 하나님께 소리를 높여 가로되 대주재여 천지와 바다와 그 가운데 만유를 지은 이시요//And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou {art} God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
(행 4:25) 또 주의 종 우리 조상 다윗의 입을 의탁하사 성령으로 말씀하시기를 어찌하여 열방이 분노하며 족속들이 허사를 경영하였는고//Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
(행 4:26) 세상의 군왕들이 나서며 관원들이 함께 모여 주와 그 그리스도를 대적하도다 하신 이로소이다//The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
(행 4:27) 과연 헤롯과 본디오 빌라도는 이방인과 이스라엘 백성과 합동하여 하나님의 기름부으신 거룩한 종 예수를 거스려//For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
(행 4:28) 하나님의 권능과 뜻대로 이루려고 예정하신 그것을 행하려고 이 성에 모였나이다//For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
(행 4:29) 주여 이제도 저희의 위협함을 하감하옵시고 또 종들로 하여금 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하게 하여 주옵시며//And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
(행 4:30) 손을 내밀어 병을 낫게 하옵시고 표적과 기사가 거룩한 종 예수의 이름으로 이루어지게 하옵소서 하더라//By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
(행 4:31) 빌기를 다하매 모인 곳이 진동하더니 무리가 다 성령이 충만하여 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하니라//And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Peter and John were in danger. The religious leaders in Jerusalem opposing the gospel had warned them to cease their missionary efforts(Acts 4:18). When the apostles reported this to the other believers, they immediately held a prayer meeting.
베드로와 요한은 위험에 처해 있었다. 복음에 반대하는 예루살렘의 종교 지도자들이 그들의 선교적 노력을 멈추라고 경고했다(사도행전 4:18). 사도들이 이것을 다른 신자들에게 보고하자, 그들은 즉시로 기도회를 열었다.
What happened next is thrilling. The believers first praised God. Then they asked for boldness that they might continue the work. The results were dramatic. The house shook, and the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit. They boldly witnessed, enjoyed spiritual unity, and gave unselfishly to those in need(vv. 31-37).
다음에 일어난 일은 짜릿한 것이다. 신자들은 먼저 하나님을 찬양했다. 그리고는 그들이 그 사역을 계속할 수 있는 담대함을 구했다. 결과는 극적이었다. 집이 진동하고, 신자들은 성령으로 충만했다. 그들은 담대히 증언했고, 성령으로 하나됨을 즐거워했으며, 그들의 것을 필요한 사람들에게 헌신적으로 나눠주었다(31-37절).
I've never felt a building shake at a prayer meeting, but I have seen God's power at work. When I've tried to help repair a broken marriage or a divided church, I've asked those involved to pray. Sometimes they refused. Other times, though, they mumbled carefully worded prayers. Those meetings failed.
나는 기도 모임 중에 집이 진동하는 것을 느껴보지 못했지만, 하나님의 능력이 역사하시는 것을 보았다. 깨어진 결혼이나 갈라진 교회를 회복시키려고 도울 때, 그들에게 기도할 것을 요청했다. 때로는 그들이 거절했다. 비록, 어떤 때는 그들이 조심스럽게 몇 마디 기도를 웅얼거렸다. 하지만 그러한 모임은 실패했다.
But occasionally someone would pray in earnest. Almost immediately the atmosphere would change. Confession and forgiveness soon replaced charges and countercharges.
그러나 때로는 누군가 진지하게 기도하려 했다. 거의 즉시로 분위기가 바뀌었다. 고백과 용서가 곧 비난과 역습을 대치했다.
