본문 : 시편 34:1-22(Psalm 34:1-22)
(시 34:1) 내가 여호와를 항상 송축함이여 그를 송축함이 내 입에 계속하리로다//I Will bless the Lord at all times: his praise {shall} continually {be} in my mouth.
(시 34:2) 내 영혼이 여호와로 자랑하리니 곤고한 자가 이를 듣고 기뻐하리로다//My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear {thereof}, and be glad.
(시 34:3) 나와 함께 여호와를 광대하시다 하며 함께 그 이름을 높이세//O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
(시 34:4) 내가 여호와께 구하매 내게 응답하시고 내 모든 두려움에서 나를 건지셨도다//I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
(시 34:5) 저희가 주를 앙망하고 광채를 입었으니 그 얼굴이 영영히 부끄럽지 아니하리로다//They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
(시 34:6) 이 곤고한 자가 부르짖으매 여호와께서 들으시고 그 모든 환난에서 구원하셨도다//This poor man cried, and the Lord heard {him}, and saved him out of all his troubles.
(시 34:7) 여호와의 사자가 주를 경외하는 자를 둘러 진치고 저희를 건지시는도다//The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
(시 34:8) 너희는 여호와의 선하심을 맛보아 알지어다 그에게 피하는 자는 복이 있도다//O taste and see that the Lord {is} good: blessed {is} the man {that} trusteth in him.
(시 34:9) 너희 성도들아 여호와를 경외하라 저를 경외하는 자에게는 부족함이 없도다//O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for {there is} no want to them that fear him.
(시 34:10) 젊은 사자는 궁핍하여 주릴지라도 여호와를 찾는 자는 모든 좋은 것에 부족함이 없으리로다//The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good {thing}.
(시 34:11) 너희 소자들아 와서 내게 들으라 내가 여호와를 경외함을 너희에게 가르치리로다//Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
(시 34:12) 생명을 사모하고 장수하여 복 받기를 원하는 사람이 누구뇨//What man {is he that} desireth life, {and} loveth {many} days, that he may see good?
(시 34:13) 네 혀를 악에서 금하며 네 입술을 궤사한 말에서 금할찌어다//Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
(시 34:14) 악을 버리고 선을 행하며 화평을 찾아 따를찌어다//Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
(시 34:15) 여호와의 눈은 의인을 향하시고 그 귀는 저희 부르짖음에 기울이시는도다//The eyes of the Lord {are} upon the righteous, and his ears {are open} unto their cry.
(시 34:16) 여호와의 얼굴은 행악하는 자를 대하사 저희의 자취를 땅에서 끊으려 하시는도다//The face of the Lord {is} against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
(시 34:17) 의인이 외치매 여호와께서 들으시고 저희의 모든 환난에서 건지셨도다//{The righteous} cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
(시 34:18) 여호와는 마음이 상한 자에게 가까이 하시고 중심에 통회하는 자를 구원하시는도다//The Lord {is} nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
(시 34:19) 의인은 고난이 많으나 여호와께서 그 모든 고난에서 건지시는도다//Many {are} the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
(시 34:20) 그 모든 뼈를 보호하심이여 그 중에 하나도 꺽이지 아니하도다//He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
(시 34:21) 악이 악인을 죽일 것이라 의인을 미워하는 자는 죄를 받으리로다//Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
(시 34:22) 여호와께서 그 종들의 영혼을 구속하시나니 저에게 피하는 자는 다 죄를 받지 아니하리로다//The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
(요절 : 시편 33:18) 여호와는 그 경외하는 자 곧 그 인자하심을 바라는 자를 살피사//Behold, the eye of the Lord {is} upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Marie (not her real name) had broken up with her boyfriend, and now he was harassing her. He followed her, stared at her, and intimidated her in subtle ways. She avoided him as much as she could.
Marie(실제 이름이 아님)는 남자친구와 헤어졌는데, 요즘 그가 그녀를 귀찮게 하고 있다. 그가 그녀를 따라다니며, 주시하고, 교활한 방법으로 위협하고 있다. 그녀는 최대한 그를 피하고 있다.
One place she could not escape his gaze was at football games, because she was a cheerleader. During one game, he stood at field level right in front of the cheerleading squad and stared at her as she did her routines. Her mom and stepdad, sitting in the stands, saw him there and realized that she was getting more and more afraid.
그가 뚫어지게 쳐다보는 것을 피할 수 없는 한 장소는 축구 경기를 할 때인데, 그녀가 치어리더이기 때문이다. 한 경기가 있던 날, 그는 치어리더팀 바로 앞의 운동장에 서서 그녀가 정해진 몸짓을 할 때 그녀를 응시했다. 그녀의 엄마와 의붓 아빠는 스탠드에 앉아서 그가 거기에 있는 것을 보았고, 그녀가 점점 두려워하는 것을 인지했다.
At a break, she ran into the stands, her eyes filled with panic. "Do you see him over there?" she blurted out. "Yes, I do." her stepdad said. "I'm watching, and I will not take my eyes off you." Relieved that he saw what was going on and understood how she was feeling, Marcie calmed down and went back to her station.
쉬는 시간에 그녀가 스탠드로 뛰어왔는데 그녀의 눈은 공포로 가득 찼다. "저기 있는 그가 보이나요?" 그녀가 불쑥 말했다. "그래, 보고 있다." 그녀의 의붓 아빠가 말했다. "내가 지켜보고 있다. 내 눈을 네게서 떼지 않겠다." Marcie는, 일어나고 있는 일을 그가 보고 있으며 그녀가 느끼는 바를 그가 이해하고 있다는 것에 안도하여 진정되었고 그녀의 위치로 돌아갔다.
One of the wonderful joys of being a believer in Jesus is knowing that our Father in heaven is always watching over us. The promise expressed by David in today's psalm applies to us wherever we go. Whatever confronts us, the "eyes of the Lord" are on us and His ears "are open to [our] cry"(Ps. 34:15).
예수님을 믿는 사람이 되는 놀라운 기쁨 중의 하나는 하늘에 계신 우리의 아버지가 항상 우리를 지켜보고 계신다는 것이다. 오늘의 시편에서 다윗이 표현한 약속은 우리가 어디를 가든지 우리에게도 적용된다. 무엇이 우리를 대적하든 "주님의 눈"이 우리를 향하며 그분의 귀가 "우리의 부르짖음에 열려있다"(시편 34:15).
