본문 : 로마서 12:9-21(Romans 12:9-21)
(롬 12:9) 사랑에는 거짓이 없나니 악을 미워하고 선에 속하라//{Let} love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
(롬 12:10) 형제를 사랑하여 서로 우애하고 존경하기를 서로 먼저 하며//{Be} kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
(롬 12:11) 부지런하여 게으르지 말고 열심을 품고 주를 섬기라//Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
(롬 12:12) 소망 중에 즐거워하며 환난 중에 참으며 기도에 항상 힘쓰며//Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
(롬 12:13) 성도들의 쓸 것을 공급하며 손 대접하기를 힘쓰라//Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
(롬 12:14) 너희를 박해하는 자를 축복하라 축복하고 저주하지 말라//Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
(롬 12:15) 즐거워하는 자들과 함께 즐거워하고 우는 자들과 함께 울라//Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
(롬 12:16) 서로 마음을 같이하며 높은 데 마음을 두지 말고 도리어 낮은 데 처하며 스스로 지혜 있는 체 하지 말라//{Be} of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
(롬 12:17) 아무에게도 악을 악으로 갚지 말고 모든 사람 앞에서 선한 일을 도모하라//Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
(롬 12:18) 할 수 있거든 너희로서는 모든 사람과 더불어 화목하라//If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
(롬 12:19) 내 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 친히 원수를 갚지 말고 하나님의 진노하심에 맡기라 기록되었으되 원수 갚는 것이 내게 있으니 내가 갚으리라고 주께서 말씀하시니라//Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but {rather} give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance {is} mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
(롬 12:20) 네 원수가 주리거든 먹이고 목마르거든 마시게 하라 그리함으로 네가 숯불을 그 머리에 쌓아 놓으리라//Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
(롬 12:21) 악에게 지지 말고 선으로 악을 이기라//Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Victoria’s family refers to her as the “hospitality manager” of their home. She lives in Singapore with her daughter and son-in-law. He is the RBC Ministries international director, and they often have visitors. Victoria stay s busy as a volunteer in the RBC office on that island nation, but her primary ministry is the gift of caring and hospitality. She makes their visitors feel welcome, loved, and cared for in their home.

The word hospitality means “love of strangers,” and this is precisely what the apostle Paul was calling us to in Romans 12. In the midst of the practical challenges to believers about our relationship with God and one another, Paul said that we are to be “distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality”(v.13). This may call us outside our comfort zone to show love and care to those the Lord brings across our path. Hebrews 13:2 adds this intriguing thought about hospitality: “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”
