본문 : 에베소서 6:10-18(Ephesians 6:10-18)
(엡 6:10) 끝으로 너희가 주 안에서와 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여지고//Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(엡 6:11) 마귀의 간계를 능히 대적하기 위하여 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입으라//Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(엡 6:12) 우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라//For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high {places}.
(엡 6:13) 그러므로 하나님의 전신 갑주를 취하라 이는 악한 날에 너희가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함이라//Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(엡 6:14) 그런즉 서서 진리로 너희 허리 띠를 띠고 의의 호심경을 붙이고//Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(엡 6:15) 평안의 복음이 준비한 것으로 신을 신고//And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(엡 6:16) 모든 것 위에 믿음의 방패를 가지고 이로써 능히 악한 자의 모든 불화살을 소멸하고//Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(엡 6:17) 구원의 투구와 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라//And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(엡 6:18) 모든 기도와 간구를 하되 항상 성령 안에서 기도하고 이를 위하여 깨어 구하기를 항상 힘쓰며 여러 성도를 위하여 구하라//Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Last January, the police officers in Tijuana, Mexico, had their guns confiscated. It was suspected that some of them had been in collusion with drug traffickers. At first, fearing for their safety, the police stopped patrolling. But eventually, some of them returned to work - carrying slingshots. Three weeks passed before their more effective weapons were returned to them.
지난 1월에, 멕시코의 티후아나에서 경찰이 권총을 압수당했다. 그들 중의 일부가 마약 불법거래상인과 결탁되어 있다는 의혹을 받고 있다. 처음에는 그들의 안전을 염려하여 경찰이 순찰을 중지했었다. 그러나 마침내 그들 중의 일부가 업무에 복귀해서 고무총을 가지고 다녔다. 3주가 지나자 그들의 보다 효율적인 무기가 그들에게 돌아왔다.
Although we all remember a shepherd boy who used a sling and a single smooth stone with great success in his encounter with a giant (1 Sam. 17), few of us would have the courage to face violent threats armed with such puny protection. But every day, although we are often ill-prepared, we do face a threat. As believers, we fight against an enemy we cannot see. Our struggle is not “against flesh and blood, but against . . . spiritual hosts of wickedness” (Eph. 6:12). The outcome of this battle is sure, however. Jesus is the Victor. And using the armor and weapons He supplies, we are able “to stand” (v.13). We fight in His power and strength.

Each day we must put on the armor of God - the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit, God’s Word (vv.13-17). Preparation and protection are the key to winning spiritual battles. - Cindy Hess Kasper

Though fierce the hatred of our foe//우리 원수의 증오가 맹렬하여

He can’t destroy the Living Word//그는 살아있는 말씀을 파괴할 수도 없고
Nor those who own Him as their Lord.//그분을 그들의 주님으로 모신 사람들도 파괴할 수 없다.

Spiritual victory comes only to those who are prepared for battle.//영적인 승리는 오직 전투를 위해 준비한 사람들에게만 찾아옵니다. 미리 준비한 사람들은 영적 전투를 만나 잘 대처할 수 있지만 무방비상태로 적을 만난 사람들은 쉽게 당하고 맙니다. 하나님이 공급하시는 무기들을 미리 갖추어 놓읍시다.
