2025-05-03(토) 하나님의 관점(빌립보서 1:12-18)
GOD’S PERSPECTIVE(PHILIPPIANS 1:12-18)
(빌 1:12) 형제들아 내가 당한 일이 도리어 복음 전파에 진전이 된 줄을 너희가 알기를 원하노라//But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things {which happened} unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
(빌 1:13) 이러므로 나의 매임이 그리스도 안에서 모든 시위대 안과 그 밖의 모든 사람에게 나타났으니//So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other {places};
(빌 1:14) 형제 중 다수가 나의 매임으로 말미암아 주 안에서 신뢰함으로 겁 없이 하나님의 말씀을 더욱 담대히 전하게 되었느니라//And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
(빌 1:15) 어떤 이들은 투기와 분쟁으로, 어떤 이들은 착한 뜻으로 그리스도를 전파하나니//Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
(빌 1:16) 이들은 내가 복음을 변증하기 위하여 세우심을 받은 줄 알고 사랑으로 하나//The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
(빌 1:17) 그들은 나의 매임에 괴로움을 더하게 할 줄로 생각하여 순수하지 못하게 다툼으로 그리스도를 전파하느니라//But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
(빌 1:18) 그러면 무엇이냐 겉치레로 하나 참으로 하나 무슨 방도로 하든지 전파되는 것은 그리스도니 이로써 나는 기뻐하고 또한 기뻐하리라//What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

In 2018, pastor Tan Flippin had a cycling accident that landed him in the hospital with fractures to his hip. When the doctors ordered a CT scan to check for a concussion, they discovered a large malignant tumor on the front of his brain. The discovery led to a long medical journey with more masses found and extensive treatments performed-including a bone marrow transplant. Flippin believes that “God allowed the accident for my brain tumor to be found.”
2018년, 탄 플립핀 목사는 자전거 사고로 엉덩이뼈가 골절돼 입원하게 되었다. 의사들이 뇌진탕 여부를 확인하려고 CT 스캔을 실시했는데, 그의 뇌 앞부분에서 커다란 악성 종양이 발견되었다. 그 발견을 시작으로 더 큰 덩어리들이 발견되었고, 골수 이식 수술을 포함한 광범위한 치료의 긴 여정이 이어졌다. 플립핀은 “뇌종양을 발견하도록 하나님이 사고를 허락하셨다.”고 믿는다.
Paul told the Philippians that God can use accidents and other adversities for His glory. The apostle was under Roman house arrest, awaiting trial for a capital offense before the emperor Nero. Rather than being sad, Paul rejoiced. How could he be joyful? He counted being “in chains for Christ” (PHILIPPIANS 1:13) as a privilege (V. 29). Next, looking at his adversity from God’s perspective, Paul said, “What has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel” (V. 12). He used his incarceration as an opportunity to share the gospel with the guards chained to him. Finally, as he preached the good news of Jesus while in bondage, his example encouraged other believers “to proclaim the gospel without fear” (V. 14).
바울은 빌립보 성도들에게 하나님은 그분의 영광을 위해 사고나 다른 역경들을 사용하실 수 있다고 말했다. 바울 사도는 로마에서 가택 연금 상태로 사형당할 수도 있는 죄에 대해 네로 황제의 판결을 기다리고 있었다. 하지만 바울은 슬퍼하는 대신 기뻐했다. 어떻게 기뻐할 수 있었을까? 그는 “그리스도 안에서 매임”(빌립보서 1:13)을 하나의 특권으로 여겼다 (29절). 그리고 하나님의 관점에서 자신의 역경들을 바라보며, “내가 당한 일이 도리어 복음 전파에 진전이 되었다”(12절)고 했다. 그는 자신이 구금당한 것을 그를 쇠사슬로 채운 간수들에게 복음을 전할 기회로 사용했다. 그가 갇혀 있는 동안에도 예수님의 복음을 전하자, 그의 본보기로 마침내 다른 신자들도 “겁 없이 하나님의 말씀을 더욱 담대히 전하게 되었다”(14절).

역경이 닥칠 때 하나님의 관점을 신뢰하고, 어려움 가운데에도 하나님이 선한 일을 이루신다는 것을 믿자.

Heavenly Father, please use my challenging moments to bring out Your will in my life.//하늘에 계신 아버지, 저의 힘든 순간들을 사용하셔서 제 삶에 하나님의 뜻이 드러나게 하소서. 역경 가운데서 일하시는 하나님을 보게 하소서. 그 역경이 나로 인한 것이면 바로 회개하게 하시고, 주님의 의도이면 그로 인한 연단을 통하여 정금같이 단련되어 더 큰 일에 쓰임받게 하소서.
