OUR NEW NATURE IN CHRIST(EPHESIANS 4:17-28)
(엡 4:17) 그러므로 내가 이것을 말하며 주 안에서 증언하노니 이제부터 너희는 이방인이 그 마음의 허망한 것으로 행함 같이 행하지 말라//This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
(엡 4:18) 그들의 총명이 어두워지고 그들 가운데 있는 무지함과 그들의 마음이 굳어짐으로 말미암아 하나님의 생명에서 떠나 있도다//Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
(엡 4:19) 그들이 감각 없는 자가 되어 자신을 방탕에 방임하여 모든 더러운 것을 욕심으로 행하되//Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
(엡 4:20) 오직 너희는 그리스도를 그같이 배우지 아니하였느니라//But ye have not so learned Christ;
(엡 4:21) 진리가 예수 안에 있는 것 같이 너희가 참으로 그에게서 듣고 또한 그 안에서 가르침을 받았을진대//If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
(엡 4:22) 너희는 유혹의 욕심을 따라 썩어져 가는 구습을 따르는 옛 사람을 벗어 버리고//That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
(엡 4:23) 오직 너희의 심령이 새롭게 되어//And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
(엡 4:24) 하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라//And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
(엡 4:25) 그런즉 거짓을 버리고 각각 그 이웃과 더불어 참된 것을 말하라 이는 우리가 서로 지체가 됨이라//Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
(엡 4:26) 분을 내어도 죄를 짓지 말며 해가 지도록 분을 품지 말고//Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
(엡 4:27) 마귀에게 틈을 주지 말라//Neither give place to the devil.
(엡 4:28) 도둑질하는 자는 다시 도둑질하지 말고 돌이켜 가난한 자에게 구제할 수 있도록 자기 손으로 수고하여 선한 일을 하라//Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with {his} hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Our blue spruce was dropping pinecones and needles. The tree doctor took one look at it and explained the problem. “It’s just being a spruce,” he said. I’d hoped for a better explanation. Or a remedy. But the tree man shrugged, saying again, “It’s just being a spruce.” By nature, the tree sheds needles. It can’t change.
우리 집 소나무에서 솔방울과 솔잎이 떨어지기 시작했다. 나무 의사는 그 모습을 한번 보더니 이렇게 말했다. “소나무가 원래 그렇습니다.” 좀 더 자세한 설명이나 해결책을 원하는 나에게 그 의사는 그냥 어깨를 으쓱하며 “소나무는 원래 그런 거예요.”라고 거듭 말했다. 자연법칙에 따라 솔잎이 떨어진 것이다. 이는 불변의 법칙이다.
Thankfully, our spiritual lives aren’t limited by unchangeable actions or attitudes. Paul stressed this liberating truth to the new believers at Ephesus. The gentiles were “darkened in their understanding,” he said, their minds closed to God. They possessed hardened hearts containing “every kind of impurity,” and sought only after pleasures and greed (EPHESIANS 4:18-19).
감사하게도 우리의 영적인 삶은 우리의 바뀌지 않는 행동이나 태도에 제한받지 않는다. 바울은 에베소의 새 성도들에게 우리를 자유케 하는 이 진리를 강조하여 말했다. 이방인들은 “총명이 어두워졌으며” 그들의 마음은 하나님께 닫혀 있었다. 그들의 마음은 “모든 더러운 것”으로 굳어져 있었고 방탕과 탐욕만을 일삼았다(에베소서 4:18-19).
But “since you have heard about Jesus” and His truth, the apostle wrote, “throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life” (V. 22 NLT). Paul noted how our old nature “is corrupted by lust and deception.” He said, “Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God - truly righteous and holy” (VV. 22-24 NLT).
바울 사도는 “너희가 참으로 예수에 대해서 듣고” 그의 진리를 알았으니 이제 “썩어져 가는 구습을 따르는 옛 사람을 벗어 버리라”(22절)고 기록했다. 바울은 우리의 옛 사람이 “유혹의 욕심에 따라 썩어졌음”을 지적하며 이렇게 말했다. “오직 너희의 심령이 새롭게 되어 하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라”(22-24절).
Then he listed new ways to live. Stop lying. Resist anger. Stop cursing. Quit stealing. “Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need” (V. 28 NLT). Our new self in Christ allows us to live a life worthy of our calling, yielded to our Savior’s way. PATRICIA RAYBON
그는 이어서 새롭게 사는 방식에 대해 말했다. 거짓말하지 말라. 화내지 말라. 욕하지 말라. 도적질하지 말라. “돌이켜 가난한 자에게 구제할 수 있도록 자기 손으로 수고하여 선한 일을 하라”(28절). 그리스도 안에서 새 사람을 입은 우리는 우리 구주의 길을 따라 부르심에 합당한 삶을 살 수 있다.
What does it mean to put on your “new self”? How can you seek to walk the Savior’s way?
“새 사람”을 입는다는 것이 어떤 의미일까요? 어떻게 구주 예수님이 가신 길을 따라갈 수 있을까요?
Renew my nature today, dear Jesus, as I yield to become more like You.//사랑하는 예수님, 오늘 새 사람을 입고 주님을 더욱 닮아가게 하소서. 더 이상 썩어져 가는 구습을 좇아가지 않도록 나를 붙드소서. 주님의 말씀이 나의 본질에 녹아 나의 발이 주님만 따라가게 하소서.
