THE PASSION OF CHRIST(ISAIAH 53:4-7, 10-12)
(사 53:4) 그는 실로 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 당하였거늘 우리는 생각하기를 그는 징벌을 받아 하나님께 맞으며 고난을 당한다 하였노라//Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
(사 53:5) 그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라 그가 징계를 받으므로 우리는 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞으므로 우리는 나음을 받았도다//But he {was} wounded for our transgressions, {he was} bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace {was} upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
(사 53:6) 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다//All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
(사 53:7) 그가 곤욕을 당하여 괴로울 때에도 그의 입을 열지 아니하였음이여 마치 도수장으로 끌려 가는 어린 양과 털 깎는 자 앞에서 잠잠한 양 같이 그의 입을 열지 아니하였도다//He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
(사 53:10) 여호와께서 그에게 상함을 받게 하시기를 원하사 질고를 당하게 하셨은즉 그의 영혼을 속건제물로 드리기에 이르면 그가 씨를 보게 되며 그의 날은 길 것이요 또 그의 손으로 여호와께서 기뻐하시는 뜻을 성취하리로다//Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put {him} to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see {his} seed, he shall prolong {his} days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
(사 53:11) 그가 자기 영혼의 수고한 것을 보고 만족하게 여길 것이라 나의 의로운 종이 자기 지식으로 많은 사람을 의롭게 하며 또 그들의 죄악을 친히 담당하리로다//He shall see of the travail of his soul, {and} shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
(사 53:12) 그러므로 내가 그에게 존귀한 자와 함께 몫을 받게 하며 강한 자와 함께 탈취한 것을 나누게 하리니 이는 그가 자기 영혼을 버려 사망에 이르게 하며 범죄자 중 하나로 헤아림을 받았음이니라 그러나 그가 많은 사람의 죄를 담당하며 범죄자를 위하여 기도하였느니라//Therefore will I divide him {a portion} with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Before Jim Caviezel played Jesus in the film The Passion of the Christ, director Mel Gibson warned that the role would be extremely difficult and could negatively impact his career in Hollywood. Caviezel took on the role anyway, saying, “I think we have to make it, even if it is difficult.”

During the filming, Caviezel was struck by lightning, lost fortyfive pounds, and was accidentally whipped during the flogging scene. Afterwards, he stated, “I didn’t want people to see me. I just wanted them to see Jesus. Conversions will happen through that.” The film deeply affected Caviezel and others on the set, and only God knows how many of the millions who watched it experienced changed lives.

The passion of Christ refers to the time of Jesus’ greatest suffering, from His triumphal entry on Palm Sunday and including His betrayal, mocking, flogging, and crucifixion. Accounts are found in all four gospels.
그리스도의 수난은 종려주일 예수님의 승리의 입성과 배신, 조롱, 채찍질과 십자가에 못 박히는 것까지, 예수님이 겪으신 가장 큰 고통의 시기를 말한다. 이것들은 4복음서 모두에서 볼 수 있다.
In Isaiah 53, His suffering and its outcome are foretold: “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed” (V. 5). All of us, “like sheep, have gone astray” (V. 6). But because of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, we can have peace with God. His suffering opened the way for us to be with Him. ALYSON KIEDA
이사야 53장에는 주님의 고난과 그 결과가 예언되어 있다. “그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라 그가 징계를 받으므로 우리는 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞으므로 우리는 나음을 받았도다”(5절). 우리는 모두 “양 같아서 각기 제 길로 갔거늘”(6절) 예수님의 십자가 죽음과 부활로 말미암아 우리는 하나님과 화평할 수 있다. 주님의 고난은 우리에게 하나님과 함께 할 수 있는 길을 열어주셨다.

Thank You.//존귀하신 구세주여, 주님이 저를 위하여 고난 받으시고, 죽으시고, 다시 살아나신 것이 얼마나 고마운지 표현할 수가 없습니다. 감사합니다. 말로 다 할 수 없는 수많은 나의 모든 죄를 짊어지시고 고난을 받으사 나의 죄를 없다 여김을 받게하신 놀라운 은혜를 찬송합니다. 나를 통하여 영광받으시기 위해 모진 고난을 당하셨는데 나는 삶을 통하여 그만큼의 영광을 돌려드리지 못했음을 회개합니다. 주여 나를 도우사 제자의 삶을 살아가게 하소서. 온전히 하나님의 나라에 집중하여 살아가게 하소서. 주님이 나의 왕이 되셔서 나를 다스려 주소서.
