PAUSE TO PRAY(PHILIPPIANS 4:4-9)
(빌 4:4) 주 안에서 항상 기뻐하라 내가 다시 말하노니 기뻐하라//Rejoice in the Lord alway: {and} again I say, Rejoice.
(빌 4:5) 너희 관용을 모든 사람에게 알게 하라 주께서 가까우시니라//Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord {is} at hand.
(빌 4:6) 아무 것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라//Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(빌 4:7) 그리하면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 마음과 생각을 지키시리라//And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(빌 4:8) 끝으로 형제들아 무엇에든지 참되며 무엇에든지 경건하며 무엇에든지 옳으며 무엇에든지 정결하며 무엇에든지 사랑 받을 만하며 무엇에든지 칭찬 받을 만하며 무슨 덕이 있든지 무슨 기림이 있든지 이것들을 생각하라//Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things {are} honest, whatsoever things {are} just, whatsoever things {are} pure, whatsoever things {are} lovely, whatsoever things {are} of good report; if {there be} any virtue, and if {there be} any praise, think on these things.
(빌 4:9) 너희는 내게 배우고 받고 듣고 본 바를 행하라 그리하면 평강의 하나님이 너희와 함께 계시리라//Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

A meteorologist in Mississippi went viral for uttering six simple yet profound words during his weather forecast on March 24, 2023. Matt Laubhan was tracking a severe storm when he realized a catastrophic tornado was about to bear down on the town of Amory. That’s when Laubhan paused on live TV to say this prayer heard worldwide: “Dear Jesus, please help them. Amen.” Some viewers later said that prayer prompted them to take cover. His spontaneous and heartfelt prayer may have helped save countless lives.

Our prayers can make a difference too. They don’t have to be long-winded. They can be short and sweet and can be said at any time of the day. Whether we’re at work, running errands, or on vacation, we can “pray continually” (1 THESSALONIANS 5:17).
우리의 기도도 변화를 가져올 수 있다. 길어야 할 필요가 없다. 짧고 간결하게 하루 중 언제든지 기도하면 된다. 직장에서 일할 때든지, 잠깐 외출 중이든지, 아니면 휴가 중에도 우리는 “쉬지 말고 기도”(데살로니가전서 5:17) 할 수 있다.
God loves to hear us pray throughout the day. The apostle Paul reminds us that we don’t have to be prisoners of worry or fear but can take all our cares and concerns to God: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7).
하나님은 우리가 종일 기도하는 것을 기뻐하신다. 바울 사도는 우리에게 근심과 두려움의 포로가 되지 말고 모든 염려와 걱정을 하나님께 맡기라고 말한다: “아무것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라. 그리하면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 마음과 생각을 지키시리라”(빌립보서 4:6-7).
