2024-04-05(금) 하나님의 임재(전도서 3:1-11)
GOD’S PRESENCE(ECCLESIASTES 3:1-11)
(전 3:1) 범사에 기한이 있고 천하 만사가 다 때가 있나니//To every {thing there is} a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
(전 3:2) 날 때가 있고 죽을 때가 있으며 심을 때가 있고 심은 것을 뽑을 때가 있으며//A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up {that which is} planted;
(전 3:3) 죽일 때가 있고 치료할 때가 있으며 헐 때가 있고 세울 때가 있으며//A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
(전 3:4) 울 때가 있고 웃을 때가 있으며 슬퍼할 때가 있고 춤출 때가 있으며//A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
(전 3:5) 돌을 던져 버릴 때가 있고 돌을 거둘 때가 있으며 안을 때가 있고 안는 일을 멀리 할 때가 있으며//A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
(전 3:6) 찾을 때가 있고 잃을 때가 있으며 지킬 때가 있고 버릴 때가 있으며//A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
(전 3:7) 찢을 때가 있고 꿰맬 때가 있으며 잠잠할 때가 있고 말할 때가 있으며//A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
(전 3:8) 사랑할 때가 있고 미워할 때가 있으며 전쟁할 때가 있고 평화할 때가 있느니라//A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
(전 3:9) 일하는 자가 그의 수고로 말미암아 무슨 이익이 있으랴//What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
(전 3:10) 하나님이 인생들에게 노고를 주사 애쓰게 하신 것을 내가 보았노라//I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
(전 3:11) 하나님이 모든 것을 지으시되 때를 따라 아름답게 하셨고 또 사람들에게는 영원을 사모하는 마음을 주셨느니라 그러나 하나님이 하시는 일의 시종을 사람으로 측량할 수 없게 하셨도다//He hath made every {thing} beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Monique was struggling. She had friends who were believers in Jesus, and she respected how they handled life’s struggles. She was even a bit jealous of them. But Monique didn’t think she could live the way they did; she thought having faith in Christ was about following rules. Finally, a fellow college student helped her see that God wasn’t out to spoil her life; instead, He wanted the best for her amidst her ups and downs. Once she understood this, Monique was ready to trust Jesus as her Savior and embrace the magnificent truth about God’s love for her.
힘들게 살고 있던 모니크는 주변에 예수 믿는 친구들이 삶의 문제들을 해결하는 방식을 존중하고 그들을 부러워하기까지 하면서도, 자신도 그들처럼 살 수 있다는 생각은 하지 못했다. 그리스도를 믿는 것을 여러 가지 규칙을 잘 지키며 사는 것으로 생각했던 것이다. 어느 날 한 대학 친구가 모니크에게 하나님은 그녀의 인생을 망치려는 것이 아니라 삶의 우여곡절 가운데 최선을 주고 싶어 하신다고 말해 주었다. 이 사실을 알고 난 후 모니크는 예수님을 구주로 믿고 하나님께서 자기를 사랑하신다는 놀라운 진리를 받아들였다.
King Solomon could have given Monique similar advice. He acknowledged that this world does have its sorrows. Indeed, there’s a “time for everything” (ECCLESIASTES 3:1)-“a time to mourn and a time to dance” (V. 4). But there’s more. God “has also set eternity in the human heart” (V. 11). An eternity meant to be lived in His presence.
솔로몬 왕이 옆에 있었다면 모니크에게 비슷한 충고를 해 주었을 것이다. 솔로몬 왕도 이 세상에는 시련이 있다고 했다. “만사가 다 때가 있나니”(전도서 3:1), “울 때가 있고… 춤출 때가 있다”(4절)고 기록했다. 하지만 그것이 끝이 아니다. 하나님은 “사람들에게 영원을 사모하는 마음을 주셨다”(11절). 여기서 영원이란 하나님의 임재 안에 거하는 것을 말한다.
Monique gained life “to the full,” as Jesus said (JOHN 10:10), when she trusted Him. But she gained so much more! Through faith, the “eternity in [her] heart” (ECCLESIASTES 3:11) became the promise of a future when life’s struggles will be forgotten (ISAIAH 65:17) and God’s glorious presence will be an eternal reality. 모니크는 예수님을 믿고 나서 예수님 말씀처럼 “풍성한 삶”을 얻었다(요한복음 10:10). 그것만이 아니었다! 믿음으로 그녀의 “영원을 사모하는 마음”(전도서 3:11)은 훗날 삶의 모든 수고가 잊혀지고(이사야 65:17) 하나님의 영광스러운 임재가 영원한 현실로 다가올 그날을 약속으로 받게 되었다.

Dear Jesus, Solomon was right. Life is a rollercoaster. Thank You for making this life valuable and worth the effort. And thank You for the eternal joys that await.//사랑하는 예수님, 솔로몬의 말대로 삶은 롤러코스터와 같습니다. 그런 삶을 값지고 노력할 가치 있게 바꾸어 주시니 감사합니다. 또한 앞으로 누릴 영원한 기쁨도 감사드립니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 항상 기뻐하며 삶의 모든 순간마다 기도로 주님의 뜻을 구하며, 무슨 일을 만나든 먼저 감사하는 삶을 살아가기 원합니다. 나와 동행하시는 주님을 항상 의식하게 하소서.
